OccupiedBalochistan: In a statement the central spokesperson of Baloch National Movement said that a delegation of BNM, headed by Vice chairman Sayed Yousif Baloch had a meeting with UN visiting team to Balochistan in Quetta and apprised it about the current situation of Balochistan: the human rights abuses, state sponsored atrocities and the Baloch Nation Crisis. On behalf of the central general secretary of the Party, a letter along with a documentary book, The Brutal Counter Insurgency and State Terrorism of Pakistan, was presented to UN working group, which highlights the state terrorism, the mass murder of Baloch People, enforced disappearances, and their subsequent mutilated dead bodies thrown on roadsides. The BNM delegation for 30 minutes briefed the UN on Baloch issue. On this occasion, the vice chairman of BNM, Sayed Yousif Baloch said that Baloch crisis isn’t merely a humanitarian crisis; rather, it is a pure matter of sovereignty of Baloch nation. He stressed up the point with question mark that all cases and reasons must be explored why Baloch are enforcedly being abducted and subsequently being killed? It is incumbent upon UN to conduct an in-depth investigation of Baloch crisis why it is so volatile? He said that Balochistan was not a province of Pakistan! Rather it is an occupied territory and it is crisis is totally different from that of FATA and other region! He remarked that Baloch nation wouldn’t abandon its freedom struggle, even if Pakistan did not commit Baloch genocide and atrocities. He said that his Party purposely does not like to describe the abducted Baloch People as missing persons, because they have been abducted by Pakistani security apparatus in broad day lights in presence relatives and friends. They main reason behind their abduction is the outright demand of liberation of their homeland from Pakistani occupation.
The massive number of custodial killings and dumping their mutilated dead bodies on roadsides register the fact that they want to contain the freedom struggle through human tragedy of massive scale inflictions of pains in the mind of People whereby refraining them from taking part in the freedom struggle.
The statement issued by BNM further says that every single dirty tactic that comes in mind is being deployed to defame and contain Baloch resistance. Baloch leader Sayed Yousif said that it is cruel to say that the Pakistan state atrocities begun in 2000 in Balochistan. He said that Pakistan invaded Balochistan and occupied it by force on March 27th 1948, against the will of Baloch masses; hence the beginning of Pakistani state atrocities against Baloch nation. He said that Balochistan was an independent state, and the British are the important historical witness of Baloch sovereign independent state.
The leader of Baloch National Movement questioned United Nations decision that why it recognized Pakistan as a state, despite the fact it had committed aggression against independent Balochistan, the sovereign Baloch state. Given that crime, did Pakistan fulfill all legal obligations of becoming a member state of United Nations? Wasn’t it a violation of UN charter by recognizing Pakistan as a sovereign country which had illegally occupied Balochistan in March 27th 1947?
The United Nations team must not look at Baloch crisis as a humanitarian crisis, but rather it should see through the historical, geographical and cultural background of the Baloch crisis which is directly related to the fact that Baloch. And it must use its influence to resolve this long bloody conflict by taking concrete steps at universal level. The Baloch leader said that no organization, including United Nations can resolve the issue of enforced disappearances unless United Nations and international community come up with international moral support of the Baloch national struggle for freedom. He said all those who been abducted and killed belonged to pro freedom Parties, among them prominent was Shaheed Waja Gulam Mohamad, he was the central chairman of Baloch National Movement. His custodial killing was taken of notice by United Nations and Zakir Majeed, the vice chairman of Baloch Students Organization Azad, Jalil Riki, the information secretary of Baloch Republican Party and all others who been enforcedly disappeared and or killed under custody belonged to the freedom movement. He said that Balochistan becomes a responsible member state of United Nations when it achieves its freedom from Pakistani occupation and works for world peace and prosperity, unlike Pakistan which is a security risk for world Peace!
